I first ran across the early reader Princess Truly books while searching for physical books for my first grade daughter during online school. I was looking for stories that would keep her interested while still feeling approachable for a new independent reader, and these ended up being such a fun find. Part of the Scholastic Acorn line, the books combine simple, manageable text with imaginative adventures that keep kids engaged and confident. Princess Truly is creative, curious, and full of personality, making the series feel playful and exciting while still being a great fit for beginning readers.

I also think the series works especially well for kids who love imaginative play. Truly’s magical curls and larger-than-life confidence make ordinary situations feel exciting, but the stories stay grounded enough that young readers can connect to them easily.
