I decided that I wanted to have an escape room birthday party for my 8 year old daughter. I looked and looked for something that would work and nothing seemed to fit just right so I decided to make one myself. My daughter wanted to "find the teddy bear."
We started off with the invitations. I don't know how to make them editable, sorry.
When the kids arrived at the party they were told that Little Bear had left them puzzles and clues that they needed to solve to find the party.
On the wall I hung pictures of different types of activities that we could be doing. Some had numbers above them and which were the answers to some of the puzzles. Activities we were not going to be doing had wrong numbers above them. The link below will take you to the pictures I used. I made them using AI so feel free to use them.
We started off with the shirt puzzle . When put together it will make the shape of a shirt. Some of the shapes can be put together with the picture that is on the puzzle. Other pieces need to be matched with the different symbols that are on the puzzle. When everyone had finished the puzzle we went to the wall to see which picture fit our clue.
For this activity we were decorating shirts for little bear when we found him.
I purchased this teddy bear on Amazon and made my own shirt pattern. We used fabric markers to decorate the shirt.
The next activity was the Woodland band. There are four different puzzles. Each puzzles answer is slightly different. When all the numbers are compared you will find that there is one digit in each answer that is different. I wrote all the numbers on a white board so we could see which one was wrong. The number that has three is the correct number. For this puzzle the answer is 4657. This puzzle lead us to a dance party.
These are the woodland stencils I made for these cookies, they were cut out of vinyl using a circuit. I used paste food coloring for the "paint" the cookie recipe and royal icing recipe are from https://www.yourbakingbestie.com/cut-out-cookie/ These are the brushes we used. Here is the link to the cookie cutter that my son designed and I had 3d printed, (cookie cutter and stencil frame)
Our next puzzle was the cipher wheel. Once again there were four different puzzles. When all the numbers are compared you will find that there is one digit in each answer that is different. I wrote all the numbers on a white board so we could see which one was wrong. The number that has three is the correct number. For this puzzle the answer is 8457. This puzzle lead us to the pinata. I used a Mylar fox balloon for the base of my pinata.

Inside the pinata were bags with colored tags. Each color had a number on them. Each kid was to find one of each of the three colors. Then there was a sequence of colors on the white board. When the numbers from the correct colors were put together you found the code to a lock box. Inside the lock box was the final clue. The maze.
At this point I threw a quick obstacle course in. It didn't really fit, but it was a way to get the kids into the room where the teddy bears were and where we were going to have presents and treats.
I think the party turned out pretty good.
